Active Monitoring of Practice Standards

The College recognizes the importance of active monitoring and has prioritized the development of a framework for peer monitoring and assessment of practice and practice facilities.

At present intervention of the QA Committee will be triggered when a Self Assessment indicates that a practice is in need of remedial involvement with the Committee.

Shortly, the College expects to have a program of scheduled and unscheduled facility inspections, or assessments, as well as a knowledge and skill assessment framework. The approach to resolve shortcomings, founded on a registrant’s cooperation, will still be supportive and remedial.
 

In the meantime, the other way in which the College may become aware of and address practice deficiencies is through the complaints process, which in appropriate cases may produce a consent agreement or Order for appropriate measures such as remedial education and changes to practice environment, conditions or protocols.
